Morgan Smith

Morgan has graduated from Columbia College, Columbia University as well as the Mannes College of Music. In New York City he was selected as a Seattle Opera "young artist" (1999-2000). The singer began his professional career at Seattle Opera in 2001 in Billy Budd. A great favorite in Seattle Mr. Smith has performed roles in 12 other productions since that debut -- including the role of Count Alamaviva as Count Alamaviva in Le nozze di Figaro, Don Giovanni (title role), Silvio in I Pagliacci, Riccardo in I Puritani and Peter Niles in Mourning Becomes the Electra. Regular on the stage for concerts, Mr. Smith made his Dallas Symphony debut with Bach's St. Matthew Passion, and debuted with an orchestra from the San Antonio Symphony for the North American premiere of Vier Praludien and Ernste Gesange, Detlef Glanert's orchestral interpretation of the well-loved piece by Brahms. Beethoven's Ninth Symphony is also on the agenda, along with the Requiems composed by Brahms Faure Mozart Durufle, masses by C Minor Mozart Vaughan Williams as well as Bach's B Minor Mass. Handel's Messiah, L'Allegro Penseroso Moderato, Haydn's Lord Nelson Mass, Bach's B Minor Mass, many cantatas, and Bach's Weihnachts Oratorium. Morgan Morgan Morgan
