Steven Tyler

Steven TylerThe band spent time on Boston's club circuit and was advised by Frank Connelly their first manager. They began working with Steve Leber, David Krebs, New York managers. They signed a record deal in 1972 and debuted their eponymous debut album in 1973. The album was followed by Get Your Wings and Toys in the Attic and Rocks. This earned Aerosmith international fame and recognition. These albums had legendary hits like "Dream On", "Walk This Way" and "Sweet Emotion". Aerosmith's five first albums all were multi-platinum. Toys in the Attic and Rocks were also multi-platinum. As the decade progressed however, the group's hectic lifestyle of playing, recording and staying together was beginning to wear them down. Due to their famed use of heroin and stimulants, Tyler and Perry were known as the Toxic Twins. Aerosmith Behind the Music as well as many video releases of Aerosmith illustrate their bond. Tyler Perry, who was evidently more dedicated to the band, seemed to resent Perry's passive attitude and envied Perry's prioritization of the females in his life. Aerosmith's gradual decline was probably because of the tension between Tyler and Perry as well as their once-friendly friendships.
